| A Family Farm Established in 2005, Willapa Hills Farm is a mix of lowland pastures and woodland hills on the banks of the Chehalis River. Three generations of our family are involved in raising dairy sheep and making cheese on our historic farmstead in SW Washington. We are a Washington State Grade A Dairy and Licensed Dairy Processor. We Are Singing the Blues Our cheese and dairy products are handcrafted in our creamery located in our century old gambrel barn. We make a variety of fresh and aged sheep milk, cow milk and sheep/cow milk blend cheese and dairy products. We have a particular passion for Blue cheese, making five distinct varieties as well as a number of Blue cheese spreads. Looking to the Future In the future we plan to expand our cheese tasting room, farm store and special event space. Listen carefully, the sweet music of the blues is filling the rafters of our barn and it has never sounded so good! |
| A Rare Flock Indeed Twice a day from March through early September our flock of Lacaune-East Friesian cross dairy ewes amble into our barn and gift us with some of the freshest and creamiest milk you can imagine for use in our handcrafted cheeses and yoghurts. Where Natural Means Natural To ensure fresh natural milk our sheep are raised on pasture year-round without exposure to pesticides, commercial fertilizers or growth hormones. Our feed is free of animal byproducts and our grass hay is locally grown and nourished by the 70+ inches of rain that keeps th eastern edge of the Willapa Hills lush and green. The cow milk for our cheese comes from a local family cow dairy that shares our commitment to fresh and natural milk. We source only natural ingredients for our products and our blue mold is certified gluten free. Quality Milk Equals Quality Cheese It goes without saying that quality milk is the essence of quality cheese and dairy. As farmstead and artisan producers, we are committed to producing both! |
